Launched in 2006 by Public Safety Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, and The Salvation Army, the 72 Hours campaign ask Canadians to be prepared and shows you how to make a plan, an emergency kit, what to do in an emergency and much more.
Public Health Agency of Canada
PHAC’s primary goal is to strengthen Canada’s capacity to protect and improve the health of Canadians and to help reduce pressures on the health-care system. The role of the agency is to Promote Health, Prevent and control chronic diseases and injuries; Prevent and control infectious diseases; and Prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.
National Seniors Council
The council has been established to advise the Government of Canada on all matters related to the well-being and quality of life of seniors. Canada has a diverse and growing seniors’ population with approximately 4.2 million people who are 65 or older. In the next 25 years, that number will double to almost nine million people, representing one quarter of the population.

The Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) is the department within the government of Canada with responsibility for pensions/benefits and services for war veterans, retired personnel of the Canadian Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is the Canadian national police service and an agency of the Ministry of Public Safety Canada. The RCMP is unique in the world since it is a national, federal, provincial and municipal policing body. The RCMP have produced a Seniors Guidebook to Safety and Security with information is directed towards the community and, more specifically, seniors and their care givers in recognizing elder abuse, frauds and scams.
