If you’re like most people, you’re probably way overdue for a holiday. And when you haven’t had a holiday for a while, you may find yourself feeling anxious and putting a lot of pressure on yourself to make sure your next holiday is “the best holiday ever.” Whether it be saving time on travel with a private jet from Jettly, or planning your journey out beforehand, there are ways to help you reduce the stress that holidays can bring.

While it’s up to you to have an attitude that will ensure you enjoy your next holiday, there are also a few things you can do to make sure you have a great time and return home feeling rested and relaxed.

Here are some top ways to make sure you enjoy your next holiday:

Take travel insurance

I’m continually surprised by the number of people who choose to take the risk and not purchase travel insurance. Some people choose to “self-insure” meaning they’re prepared to pay for any hospital costs out of pocket. This is fine if you get a case of food poisoning in Thailand, but what happens if you get appendicitis and need emergency surgery in the United States? You could easily be out $100k.

Do yourself (and your family) a favour and make sure you get some cheap travel insurance with Webjet because you can never be too careful.

Do some planning

Did you know that a large part of the enjoyment we get out of our holidays is due to the anticipation? You can increase this by spending time researching your destination and finding some fun things to do while you’re there, you can try Webjet holiday packages and see if there are packages that suits your travel needs. Keep in mind that you’ll want to have plenty of time to rest and relax and do spur of the moment activities as well. Think about things like how you’ll get from the airport to your hotel, which tourist sites you consider “must-sees”, and what you’re hoping to get from your holiday.

Do new things

When you were a kid, holidays seemed to last forever. Now, you probably feel like they’re finished in the blink of an eye. To enjoy this “slowing down” of time, you simply need to make sure you’re planning new experiences. When the brain has lots of adventures to process, it feels like time is going slower, so you’ll get more out of your holiday. Learn to scuba dive, go ziplining, take a local cooking class, or pick up a few words of the language.
